Valera or Vallera is the common name for the valley where the Valera headquarters is located. Through this valley (Italian valle) flows a small stream called Laveggio. Heron on the banks of this small stream, horses on the meadow next to the factory, very close to pastures with cows and sheep ... that is Swiss Ticino, where Ligo Electric has been based since 1978 and has been producing hair care equipment since 1990 under the VALERA brand. What began with small steps became so successful in a few years that in 2008 the factory building was doubled to 4,000 m2. Perhaps it is no coincidence that the first name Valera is attributed to the Latin word tribe the meaning "healthy, strong, brave and courageous"?

Important stages

• 1955 Gustavo Soresina founded the SOREL company in Milan, producing hairdryers and other small electrical appliances for well-known brands.
• 1978 Ligo Electric SA is founded in the Swiss Ligornetto (Canton Ticino) and starts production in the new factory.
• 1990 The own brand VALERA is created and positioned as a specialist for hair care devices.
• 2008 The factory building of Ligo Electric SA is being expanded, the area is doubled to 4,000 m2.
